Why teach Relationships and Sex Health Education?
We are committed to supporting all children to grow up happy, healthy and safe, and to provide them with the knowledge they need to manage the opportunities and challenges of modern Britain. That is why all primary age children will be taught Relationships Education and Health Education. Following the guidelines from the Government, we are required to teach Relationships and Sex Health Education (RSHE) as part of our PSHE curriculum.
Our RSE curriculum is designed to prepare pupils for growing up in an increasingly complex world, both on and offline. Our curriculum is there to place the key building blocks of healthy, respectful relationships, as well as give children the necessary tools to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. Outcomes and expectations from previous PSHE and SRE curriculums have been combined to create one curriculum, focusing on 7 strands:

Our
Relationships

Positive
Wellbeing

Citizenship

Life Online

Physical
Development

Economic
Wellbeing

Growing and
Changing
The development of these 7 strands will ensure that our children are life-ready, focusing on the whole child.
